Mitsubishi Electric India has announced the inauguration of a cutting-edge smart manufacturing facility specializing in advanced Factory Automation Systems in the Talegaon Industrial area of Maharashtra, India. Initially spanning 15,400 sq. m and eventually expanding to cover 40,000 sq. m, this facility is underpinned by a Greenfield Investment totaling Rs 2.2 billion.
The investment underscores Mitsubishi Electric's commitment to bolster its operations in India while meeting the rising global demand for advanced automation and smart manufacturing solutions. According to their statement, this newly established manufacturing plant will not only serve as a catalyst for business growth but will also facilitate the expansion of localized manufacturing for its diverse global product portfolio.
The Factory Automation & Industrial Division of Mitsubishi Electric India has established a strong presence in India for over a decade. It has made significant contributions to various industrial and commercial sectors, including automotive, food & beverages, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and is now increasingly involved in upcoming diverse sectors such as data centers and e-commerce.
With India's burgeoning manufacturing sector witnessing a surge in demand for smart automation solutions, Mitsubishi Electric India has seen its automation business expand by over threefold to adapt to the evolving needs of the Indian market.
The newly established smart factory is supported by a robust local Research & Development framework aimed at creating indigenous products tailored to meet specific customer requirements across industries. This initiative aims for robust growth in India in the forthcoming years.
