A user, known as X, posted a screenshot of a news headline stating, 'OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever has disappeared within the company.'
Ilya Sutskever, Chief Scientist and co-founder of OpenAI, has received a job offer from Tesla and xAI, as he played a role in the decision to remove Sam Altman, a move he later regretted. Altman returned as OpenAI CEO just five days later.
A user on X, using the handle Whole Mars Catalog, shared a screenshot of a news headline stating, "OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever has become invisible at the company, with an uncertain future, insiders say." Alongside the screenshot, he suggested, "Ilya should come work at Tesla!" Elon Musk responded, "Or xAI," indicating his support for Ilya joining either Tesla or xAI, an AI company.
Upon his reinstatement as CEO, Altman made a statement to dispel any notion of animosity with Sutskever. He expressed, "I love and respect Ilya; I consider him a guiding light in the field and a remarkable individual. I bear no ill will towards him. Although Ilya won't be on the board anymore, we aim to maintain our working relationship and are exploring how he can continue contributing to OpenAI."
Following Altman's return, Greg Brockman, President, and co-founder of OpenAI, resigned from the company. Upon Altman's rejoining, Brockman shared a photo with Sutskever, implying a positive resolution between them.
For those unfamiliar, initially, it seemed that Sutskever played a pivotal role in the OpenAI board's actions. However, in a surprising turn of events, he later expressed remorse for his involvement in Sam Altman's removal. On X, formerly Twitter, he stated, "I deeply regret my role in the board's actions. I never intended to harm OpenAI. I cherish everything we've built together and will do all I can to bring the company back together." He also joined 500 OpenAI employees in signing a letter, suggesting they might leave OpenAI for Microsoft if Altman wasn't reinstated.

He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Toronto in 2013 under the guidance of Geoffrey Hinton, often referred to as the Godfather of AI.
