The masterminds behind the triumph of Ghadi detergent are the siblings hailing from Kanpur.

Murli Dhar Gyanchandani, the richest individual in Uttar Pradesh, holds the ownership of RSPL group, the manufacturer of Ghadi detergent. With a staggering net worth of Rs 12000 crore, he has remarkably turned a modest family enterprise into one of the most rapidly expanding brands in the FMCG industry.

Murli Dhar and Bimal Kumar Gyanchandani, who are based in Kanpur, have followed in the footsteps of their father, Dayaldas Gyanchandani, and expanded the consumer product business. Their father initiated the home-grown business at a small scale, producing soaps from glycerin.

Forbes reports that Ghadi, manufactured by their flagship outlet, Rohit Surfactants, has attained the distinction of being India's second-largest detergent brand, trailing only Unilever's Wheel. Positioned as an affordable detergent brand, Ghadi commands a 20% market share and generates the highest profits for the group.

The daily operations and smooth functioning of the business are overseen by family members, with Murli and Bimal taking charge. Bimal's son handles the brand's marketing, while Murli's sons are also actively involved in the company.

Manoj Gyanchandani, the elder son of Murli, not only manages their dairy business but also ventured into the shoe manufacturing industry in 1995. He established Leayan Global Private Limited, which manufactures Red Chief shoes and boasts an annual turnover worth crores.

In addition to their domestic sales, the Ghadi brand is also marketed and sold internationally. Manoj, meanwhile, manages their dairy business called Namaste India. Furthermore, the family has established a philanthropic hospital in Kanpur, which is named after their parents.

Living a modest lifestyle, the entire family maintains a low-profile presence and does not actively engage on social media platforms.

Murali Dhar has secured the 149th position among India's wealthiest individuals, with an impressive net worth of Rs 12,000 crores. This notable increase from the previous year's Rs 9,800 crores demonstrates his substantial financial growth.
