Following his graduation, he joined Bansi Silk Mills, a fabric trading company, but encountered a negative work culture. Driven by his curiosity, he ventured outside to explore the market landscape, where he recognized the popularity of trousers crafted from "stonewashed" fabric.


Kishore Biyani: Entrepreneurial Journey


Kishore Biyani's initial venture into entrepreneurship involved establishing a neighborhood mill, a clothing store, and a shop specializing in trousers. It was through this path that he embarked on the first phase of his remarkable entrepreneurial success.


Recognizing the growing trend of men's trousers, Kishore introduced a line of fabric with the catchy slogan "W.B.B. - white, brown, and blue." The demand for these trousers skyrocketed, resulting in monthly sales of over 30,000 to 40,000 meters of cloth.


This marked the inception of Pantaloon as a brand-new clothing manufacturing enterprise known as "Manz Wear Private Ltd." Drawing inspiration from the Italian fashion industry, particularly Patloon, which means trousers in Urdu, Pantaloon quickly gained traction. It began its journey in Goa and gradually expanded its presence to other states, eventually covering the entire nation.


Kishore Biyani: Personal Life


Kishore Biyani tied the knot with Sangita Rathi when he was just 22 years old. The couple was blessed with two children, Ashni and Avni. Ashni, their daughter, played a crucial role in the group's innovations. She pursued textile design studies at Parsons in New York and successfully graduated.



Avni, on the other hand, pursued sociology at New York University. He explored various career paths, including trading, organizing dance festivals, and aspiring to become a filmmaker, although these ventures did not yield the desired success.
