Exclusive: The CEO of TSSC announced that approximately 126,000 young individuals with telecommunications expertise will be hired during this fiscal year.

As part of its corporate social responsibility program, Nokia made investments in infrastructure, equipment, and training for the CoE.


According to a senior official from the Telecom Sector Skill Council, approximately 126,000 young individuals who have received training in telecom technologies will be hired during the ongoing fiscal year.


The Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) has also declared the establishment of a new Center of Excellence for Skill Development Training in partnership with Finnish telecom equipment manufacturer Nokia. The center will be located at Kaushalya - The Skill University campus in Ahmedabad.


During the launch event of the new center in collaboration with Nokia, TSSC CEO Arvind Bali mentioned that TSSC plans to provide training to 126,000 young individuals in the current fiscal year, with the goal of securing employment opportunities for them in the industry.


The Centre of Excellence (CoE) located at ITI Kubernagar is establishing a Skill Lab specifically designed to train candidates in 5G technology skills. The primary objective is to offer job placements to at least 70 percent of learners within 4-6 weeks after completing the course. In the initial year of the project, approximately 300 candidates will benefit from this program.


Amit Marwah, Chief Marketing Officer of Nokia India, expressed that this initiative is significant in line with the vision of Digital Bharat set forth by the Hon'ble Prime Minister. Nokia, being at the forefront of telecom technology innovation, is making investments to cultivate a pool of technically skilled workforce to contribute to the development of the 5G ecosystem.

The inauguration of the center was conducted by Balvantsinh Rajput, the Minister of Labour, Skill Development, and Employment of Gujarat.
